This is our new forever friend. He’s our gift to our son for Christmas. His name is Ozzie!!! Isn’t he gorgeous!
Life’s been hard for us this year, with my going into anaphylactic shock in January and battling my health, to my Dad passing away in March, our sons wedding in June, his wife’s leaving in September and The Hired Hands dad quickly passing from us. I really don’t care for another one like it. We call them Job years. Although God allowed Satan to take everything from Job, Job never cursed God.
With the difficulties of finding JOY this Christmas, this fellow has joined our family. I so wanted to give Tender Heart a companion for Christmas. Ozzie is a Pit/Lab mix and will live with us until Tender Heart finds a new home once his lease is up in a few months. There’s nothing like the unconditional love of a dog. Ozzie will now have a forever home and Tender Heart will have a forever friend.
So as many are finding Joy and Cheer this Christmas season we are finding contentment. You know what Scripture says, “Godliness with contentment is great gain.” I know many of you are also experiencing great loss this season. It’s hard to be cheerful and bright when you’re heart is being ripped right out of your chest. It’s hard to see sunny days when yours are filled with gloom. But this I know to be true as Job did, “although He slay me, yet will I praise Him.”
In spite of our trials and troubles, we wish you a warm and joyous Christmas. If your hearts are suffering as ours are, then we pray that the peace of God that passes all understanding would be yours.
Merry Christmas!

PS Gentle hugs, dear one….and prayers for you all…
I did not realize you have all gone through so much. How very sad for you. My hubby’s mom died Dec. 5th so we have had some sadness this year too, but as you know, God is with us and loves us so much. I pray 2012 is a year of abundant joy!
Merry Christmas to you and yours. I also know contentment and happiness/joy will, again, come in time.
This year was difficult, so many deaths, heart aches but God has been faithful.
Bless His name forever.
Ozzie is such a cutie!
Love ya sister!
May 2012 be a much better year. Have a very Merry Christmas.
I wish you, your family and your extended community hope, health and happiness! As Ozzie settles into his new home, he will bring joy back into your lives. The power of a dog!!!
(I got a puppy two months ago–Joy is returning!)
Thank you Christine. The best to you and yours this New Year.
I’ve followed your blog quietly now, but just have to say happy holidays. I hope the Hired Hand is healing well. Ozzie is beautiful! We’ve had two pit mixes and they are the best, it is a shame that they have such a bad reputation because of their owners. Your son and him will have many happy days together! Wishing you and your family a healthy and happy New Year & a Merry Christmas
