Meeting The King

I think Pop must of known on Monday that he was going home the next day.

He was so set on getting cleaned up. He wanted his hair cut and wanted to brush his teeth.

He had what little strength it took and even rinsed and spit out the paste.

Dad always kept his hair short…and that’s really an understatement….he kept his head bald. The last 5 weeks nearly drove him crazy cause he had a little 1/4 inch gray fuzz that he wanted off.

He was so determined to do it himself!!! So, I let him and helped clean it up and finish the back when he was done in.

Later that afternoon the nurses aid came and bathed him, rubbing lotion on his back. He groaned with pleasure. He was squeaky clean!

I find it amazing that I truly believe Dad knew that come Tuesday morning, he was going to meet The KING!

And he did! We sent him off in one of his little caps with a polo shirt that depicted him. He was an excellent golfer in his day and it’s no wonder he saw visions of a golf cart.

I’m pretty sure that he and Jesus are out on the greens today (no cheating!!).;)With the sunshine in his new eyes and the wind at his back.

It’s no wonder he wants some of his ashes spread on a golf course. And as I do it, I’m going to yell as he taught me when I was just a tike……

F O U R!!!!!

I am so sorry for your loss. And yet the joy we do have in knowing where our dads are is nothing short of amazing.
I’ve said over the last couple years that my dad is now hiking the mountains of heaven with Jesus as his Guide! And the joy we will have someday to see those we have lost again and to be, maybe for the first time, Marys…
Blessings to your family!
