MIA Again

Just wanted to pop in and let you know that I’m alive!!!

I had to skip town in a hurry to help care for my aging parents. Dad had 2 half toes amputated 2 weeks ago and everything went SOUTH! His kidneys failed (or whatever they wanted to call it…mal-practice if you ask me!) then he tripped out on us and took some mini-vaca’s. They gave him some hallucinagines! He saw little children, kitty cats, men, parades and Marilyn Monroe!!! He called 911 the first night they tripped him and I think that is a hoot!!!! The sweet part was that he was very sweet…not his usual nature….and he wanted to sit with his little cap on and watch the parade!!!:)So we did! (I have pictures for everything but no way to show you!)

AND as usual my very favorite time of day AGAIN is nap time!!!!

I told you we only have one way to go around here and that’s UP!!!

So, I found the public library and figured out how log in….:)ahhhh, finally civilization!

Anyway, it’s a long battle ahead… but as a recovering alcoholic…Dad says, “one day at a time.”  How very true.

He is in rehab for as long as it takes to get him back on his toes!;)This morning he is dressed….finally and off to PT! He is a fighter and gave me that incredible fighting spirit! I think he’ll be running laps around them by weeks end!!!!

GO DAD!!!!

I have many funny stories to tell as well as frustrating….but for now I’m off to fight another battle for the rights of the elderly. It’s a pity how they are treated and I will stay as long as I’m needed to help get things ready for him to come home. Mom is a fighter too and I’m so grateful for the time I’ve had with her; bonding as an adult.

Take care my friends.

Until we meet again.:)

I hope things go well with your dear ol’ Dad! I want you to know that I am enjoying your blog immensely. It is being a great help to me, as I am also going through meno and food allergies. Thanks so much for being there…

A person would have to be insane to go into a hospital without someone to assist. It’s amazing how frequently meds are given to the wrong people, incorrectly, prescribed incorrectly, etc. This whole hospital mess with Dave has opened my eyes and I will NEVER allow any of my family or those I love to go into a hospital alone.
Dave’s cousin said he’s begun taping all of his doctor’s visits; he tells them it’s because he can’t remember and that’s true. It’s also true we need to protect ourselves.

To all you viewers of my sister’s blog … SHE IS AN ANGEL OF MERCY. and has been there night and day, when the rest of us could not. She has nutured our father with every step of progress and championed him in her subtley sarcastic way that ooooh, I just love it when those so called doctors realize what she is really saying.

Thank you Doob! There truly are not words to express our thanks.

Love you sister.

Oh my, what a time you’ve had!
It’s very sad how people can be treated by doctors, not just the elderly…had we not fought hard, we would have lost my hubby’s mom 20 years ago if we would have listened to the doctors. But we fought for her and demanded they treat her properly and today she’s running around the countryside at 72! Our son received disgusting treatment after an accident last Fall…until they found out he was law enforcement! What ever happened to respect and consideration for a HUMAN BEING?
Praying for you and your folks…Go Dad!!!
