I’ve been lured into the trap of testing Joy’s DNA to find out if she has A1 or A2 milk.
I just had to pull a few tail hairs and send them off to UC Davis.

Joy is a Standard Registered Jersey Cow, so she’s probably A2, but it will be good to know. I do think it will be a good selling point if and when we have a heifer calf.
From my little unscientific mind…..and the simplest explanation is that A2 milk has casein proteins that are easier to digest. Really, that is merely the simple version. You can research it and there is a new book out, Devil In The Milk.
All I know is that Joy’s milk is Deeee-Lishhhhh-Us!
