Achew!

Good news and bad news! Isn’t that just the way life is?

The good news first.

I have NOT relapsed!!!!!!!!!!!!!:):):)All of my blood work looked good. I’m not anemic nor am I fighting either/or Malaria/Babesia or Lyme for that matter. My RBC and WBC are all looking very good!

For me that is some of the best news of my life. I worked my butt off killing that crap and fighting for my life to keep my immune system strong….however some would question that due to the current diagnosis.

I was correct though about my Vit D theory. Yup, my Vit D levels were pretty low! So, it’s 2 swigs of Blue Ice Cod Liver Oil for me every morning. Mmmm love that stuff.;)

The bad news is I am allergic to EVERYTHING under the sun! My body is reacting “violently” and having severe inflammation to everything around me. My doc said he’s never seen anyone so off the charts allergic. Great. Thanks Dad!

I already knew that I was having bad allergies for the past 2.5 yrs. I wasn’t safe inside or outside and on some days I was safer outside.

There is something in my house that is an invisible killer. I’m not sure what…..but perhaps MOLD! Not good! The last thing we want is to send those mold spores completely airborne, especially with me in the house.

The next step is to have the K9 Mold Sniffing Dog to come and tell us if we have mold hiding in our house. The oxymoron is that I’m allergic to dogs now.

And I’m probably allergic to COWS, and GOATS, and CHICKENS! So I’ll be fashionably wearing my Darth Vader mask until we can get a handle on my breathing.

I’m back on the Prednisone (just a low dose of 5mg) until we’re able to get things under control, plus some other Rx for allergies and anti-histamines. My asthma is so severe right now and I am totally in distress within 3 hrs of a treatment. But I feel hopeful…that’s just me…although I was pretty bummed out this week. Now I have to work and pray that my adrenals don’t tank on me for the use of steroids. So, I’m already taking 2 drops of Lugol’s Iodine again and taking the wonderful herb for my liver that a reader suggested called, Chanca Piedra from Worldwide Botanicals. They have some really good stuff and Chanca Piedra has worked beautifully with detoxing. I used the Desmodium that they sell for allergies and it worked for a few days, then forget about it. That’s been my pattern all summer. I find something and after a week it doesn’t work.

I’ve already gotten a few goodies out of what I already knew was happening….new leather furniture! Leather doesn’t hold the dust like upholstery. Clean air ducts. Allergy covers on the mattress and pillows. Next is probably to rip up all the carpet and put down wood. We may have to also hire a house cleaner!!!!!!!! I’m not kidding you…..can you think of any better excuse than to need some help managing the dust levels!!!!!!!!;)At least in the Spring and Summer when I’m so busy growing food outside. And I can see it, can’t you…..a gardener! Oh yes, someone to help grow all that food! Let’s see how we can milk this one……oh yes, a lawn boy…someone to sneeze for me on the mower. And…………….

But this I know, I’m NOT allergic to My Hired Hand!!!!!!  Although there is some question there, since there is something in our bedroom or master bath. MOLD is my guess!

My doc says we’re at a really hard place now. I think he’s thinking we have to rid ourselves of the animals. He didn’t come right out with it, but I could sense he was hedging around it.

There MUST be something I can do. There MUST be some acupuncture or something that can help me. Herbs haven’t worked. Heaven knows I believe in them and I have tons of bottles of tinctures sitting around for someone to use since they don’t work on this particular problem with me. But perhaps, I’ll consult with a good herbalist and see if we can’t design something now that we know what we’re working with. And perhaps I’ll go see another Allergist AGAIN and have another work-up done. But for now, we know that I’m very allergic. Why? I wish I knew.

The only thing that changed about that time in my life was I went through Menopause; meaning the ceasing of menses. Crazier things have happened. But it’s not uncommon for women to experience things that change during The Change!

We were going to try a new allergy technique called SPLIT. I can’t remember what it stands for, but it’s basically a homeopathic type of allergy treatment. My doc’s had very good success with it from other patients. My SPIT came in yesterday but he’s afraid for me to start it right now. He said my body can’t handle it yet. So we have to get the inflammation down and then I’ll give SPLIT a try. It’s basically just like the shots, but it’s diluted 10X or something to the sort and put in the mouth as a drop. You have to sit in the office for 15 min’s and hopefully not have a reaction. But for me, I have to wait on it. Because I could definitely go into anaphylactic shock about now.

Okie Dokie….so if you have any brilliant ideas and are willing to put your neck on the line….bring it on! Because I’m not giving up my new title as Farmer! I’m just not. And frankly I don’t see anyone else around here stepping up to the plate right now and doing it.  I believe that someone out there has an answer to my problem. It could be you!

Please leave a comment and if you’re the lucky winner in finding an answer to my health problem….I’ll email you to chat privately.

Until then…….ACHEW!!!! (actually I don’t sneeze…I just wheeze!)

Emmjay, the reason for the pred was I could NOT breathe. That is a bit more important than what it was going to do to the Lyme…which by all appearances seems to be gone. If you read on you would see that the reason for the breathing issues was severe food allergies…severe enough that I went into anaphylactic shock on Jan 4. Then more pred to save my life. At this point my endocrine system & immune system have crashed after being pumped full of Epi & Pred. BUT I am working with a new doc to restore both of those systems. Still no Lyme showing up or any of the co-infections. I believe I killed those infections with the Rife & Dr Zhang’s Chinese Herbs. Just a bit of info for you…Dr Crist (in a more recent post) states that “you cannot heal Lyme until you heal the hormones”. I believe that’s in a February post.

You have lyme and you’re on prednisone? Seriously?

I entreat you to explain. Usually steroids are bad for lyme sufferers.

Hi Sally, I’m glad you left a comment. And I’m glad you told me about your use of acupuncture for allergies. I will have to make an appt soon. Thanks again for all your support and prayers. Diane

Melissa, I’ve been reading your blog for months, but haven’t commented yet. I love your writing and all of the amazing information you give. Your blog is truly a resource for someone like me that’s just starting out.

You suggested acupuncture, and I would say go for it! I had one of the worst spring allergy seasons this year. Pollen levels were 10x normal…I was at my wits’ end. Acupuncture was a miracle for me. I was able to stop both of my allergy meds after 2 treatments.

I’m very interested about SPLIT now…thanks so much for writing about what you’re going through. I haven’t experienced anything as extreme as what you’ve been through. I hope you find a solution that allows you to keep all your animals. My prayers are with you.

I hope you find some relief soon Melissa. I know how bad that can be. I could use some of the Lord’s insight about now. Thanks for your prayers friend! :)

I’ll look into NAET Bonnie. Thanks for the tip. We are pretty cautious about MSG since my hubs has horrible migraines and cleaning up all our diets due to health has been a number one job. BUT I must admit that sometimes there is that hidden “natural flavor” in organics that makes me wonder and guess what it is. I mean if it’s vanilla then say vanilla, if it’s orange say orange…but natural flavor…??? Thanks again. I have the name of a really good Japanese acupuncturist that I hope can help me.

Have you tried NAET treatments with a naturopath? They’ve been pretty successful for me. She also uses acupuncture. Also, eliminate ALL MSG from your diet, including the hidden names for MSG. See http://www.msgmyth.com and especially look at the list of hidden names. I stopped MSG and stopped near constant hives, migraines, stomach ailments, chronic bronchitis, chronic sinus troubles, ear aches, body pain and on and on. I rarely use my inhaler anymore. Especially watch for the gums, carrageenan, xanthan, guar etc. They cause a lot of muscle and bone pain for me.

Oh, Diane… Good news and bad news indeed. I’m actually making a trip to an herbalist myself soon. Hopefully we’ll both be able to find the cause and cure for what ails us in the very near future. I can’t imagine being allergic to the animals you care for! Hang in there. I’m praying that the Lord reveals HIS TRUTH to you concerning your health and healing.
